STEERING HEAD ADJUSTMENT
WARNING:
Securely support the motorcycle so there is
no danger of it falling over.
1. Elevate the front wheel by placing a suitable
stand
und~r
the engine.
2.·Check:
- Steering assembly bearings
Grasp the bottom of the forks and gently
rock the fork assembly back and forth.
Looseness-+Adjust steering head.
3. Adjust:
- Steering head
Adjustment steps:
-Remove the handlebar.
- Loosen the pinch bolts

and steering fit-
ting bolt
®.
-Tighten the ring nut using the Ring Nut
Wrench

Ring Nut Wrench:
PIN YU-33975
Set the torque wrench to the ring nut wrench
so that they form a right angle.

Ring Nut (Initial Tightening):
~
38 Nm (3.8 m-kg,
Zl ft-Ib)
-Loosen the ring nut one turn.
- Retighten the ring nut using the Ring Nut
Wrench.
WARNING:
Avoid over-tightening.
Ring Nut (Final Tightening):
6 Nm (0.6 m-kg, 4.3 ft-Ib)
-Tighten the steering fitting bolt and pinch
bolts.
-Install the
handl~bar.
Steering Fitting Bolt:
90 Nm (9.0 m-kg, 65 ft-Ib)
Pinch Bolts:
23 Nm (2.3 m-kg, 17 ft-Ib)
Bolt (Handlebar):
20 Nm (2.0 m-kg, 14 ft-Ib)
