REAR SHOCK ABSORBER AND SWINGARM

2. Install:
-Pin (Rear shock absorber-Lower)
- Plain washer
-Cotter pin
WARNING:
Always use a new cotter pin.
3. Install:
-Rear wheel
Refer to IIREAR WHEEL-INSTALLATION"
section.
Nut (Rear Wheel Axle):
90 Nm (9.0 m-kg, 65 ft-Ib)
4. Adjust:
-Brake pedal free play
- Drive chain slack
Refer to IICHAPTER 3- REAR BRAKE AD-
JUSTMENT and DRIVE CHAIN ADJUST-
MENT" section.
Drive Chain Slack:
30-40 mm (1.2-1.6 in)
Brake Pedal Free Play:
20-30 mm (0.8-1.2
in)
Rear Shock Absorber
Reverse the removal procedure.
Note the following points.
1. Install:
- Rear shock absorber
Bolt (Rear Shock Absorber-
Upper):
50 Nm (5.0 m-kg, 36 ft-Ib)
2. Install:
-Pin
- Plain washer
-Cotter pin
NOTE: _
Apply the lithuim soap base grease onto the pin,
bolt and oil seal lip.
WARNING:
Always use a new cotter pin.
