INSPECTION TASK DESCRIPTION
10. Disconnect the tail rotor driveshaft from the transmission
and tail rotor gearbox. Examine each tail rotor driveshaft hanger
assembly as follows: (T1/T2)
a. Rotate the driveshaft by hand and feel for roughness in
the bearing.
b. Make sure the tail rotor splined adapter-nut has the
correct torque.
11. Examine auxiliary fins on the horizontal stabilizer for
damage. Make sure they are correctly attached. (T1/T2)
12. Examine the top and bottom surfaces of the horizontal
stabilizer for cracks in the area adjacent to the stabilizer
support. (T1/T2)
13. Examine the tail rotor guard and the tail skid for damage.
Make sure they are correctly attached. (T1/T2)

CORRECT TORQUE.
14. Examine the vertical fin assembly for damage. Make sure
the vertical fin attach bolts/nuts have the correct torque. Apply
torque in the tightening direction to the nut while restraining the
bolt head. If the lowest value of specified torque range is
reached without nut movement, raise the torque to the highest
value of specified torque range. If the nut moves below the
lowest value of specified torque range proceed with 2 Year
Inspection. (T1/T2)
15. Remove the aft fuselage access panel. Examine the
control tube, bellcrank and support assembly for corrosion,
mechanical damage and worn bearings and clevises. Make
sure they are correctly attached. (F4)
