INSPECTION TASK DESCRIPTION
c. Main rotor controls:
(1) If you find one or more of the discrepancies that
follow in
step (a)
through
swashplate and levers, drive hub, idler link and drive link
assemblies.
(a) Main rotor blade damage that requires
overhaul or replacement.
(b) Main rotor yoke damage where replacement
is necessary.
(c) Damage to the pitch horn or the connect
bolts.
(d) Failure of any kind of the pitch change link.
(e) Damage to the lift link attach fittings, the
transmission up-stops or the pylon fluid mounts.
(2) If you do not find any of the discrepancies in
step c.(1)
do a close visual inspection of the main rotor controls.
You can keep the swashplate and drive hub, idler link and drive
link assemblies in service if you do not find any signs of
damage.
(3) Replace all of the bolts in the rotating controls.
Scrap the removed bolts.
d. Main driveshafts:
(1) Remove
and
driveshafts. If you find signs that the driveshaft is bent or
deformed, scrap the damaged driveshaft assembly and the
engine driveshaft adapter and attach bolts.
(2) If you can not find any visual signs of damage, do
an overhaul. Make an entry in the component record to show
that the reason for removal was a sudden stoppage.
