CONDITIONAL INSPECTIONS
INSPECTION TASK DESCRIPTION
13. Examine the cabin roof structure in the pylon link
attachment area for loose, missing, or sheared rivets. Make
sure that the roof panels and the support beam structure are not
yielded or damaged.
14. Remove the lower wing access covers and examine all of
the wing attach fittings and hardware for cracks and other
damage.
15. Examine the inside and the outside of the tailboom for
cracks, loose rivets and other damage. Closely examine the
area around the tailboom aft fuselage splice and the tail rotor
gearbox attach fitting.
16. Examine the vertical fin for damage. Closely examine the
tail skid and tail rotor guard, their mount structure and the
vertical fin attach fitting.
If you find a lot of damage in any area of the
airframe, expand the inspection in that area until you
get past the zone of damage.
17. Do an engine hard landing inspection.
18. Do a complete inspection and rigging check of the flight
control system from the cockpit controls to the main rotor head.
Examine the system for bent or damaged control tubes,
damage to the actuator structure, bellcranks and supports and
damage to the bearings. Closely examine all of the controls
above the transmission for damage.
19. Examine the hydraulic system for leaks. Make sure there is
no interference between the hydraulic actuators and the
adjacent structure. Make sure the hydraulic actuators operate
freely and properly.
20. Examine the fuel and oil system for damage and leaks.
21. Examine the fuel system breakaway-valves (vent and
wing/fuselage disconnects).
