SCHEDULED INSPECTIONS
INSPECTION TASK DESCRIPTION
53. Inspect tail rotor pitch control assembly as follows:
a. Check for excessive radial play between the pitch
control assembly and the tail rotor gearbox output shaft due to a
worn or debonded guide bearing. Radial play in excess of 0.018
inch (0.5080 mm) is considered excessive.
b. Check for worn areas on the tail rotor gearbox output
shaft wear sleeve.
c. Check for worn or rough crosshead bearing set.
d. Check for rough or worn counterweight bellcrank
bearings.
e. Check for worn inner race in the tail rotor idler
assembly.
f. Check for unbonded bearing in the upper leg of tail rotor
input lever assembly.
g. Check for worn bearings in the tail rotor pitch links.
54. Make sure that the tail rotor hub and blades are clean.
Examine the blades for damage. Examine the pitch change
bearings, trunnion bearings and pitch link bearings for
looseness. Make sure the pitch horns and pitch links are
correctly attached. (R2)
55. Make sure that the tail rotor hub and blade assembly
retaining nut has the correct torque. (R2)
56. Examine the right power plant area for fuel or oil leaks.
Examine the flexible and rigid fuel and oil lines for wear, chafing
and damage. Make sure they are correctly attached. (E2)
57. Examine the right engine mounts and accessories for
damage. Make sure they are correctly attached. (E2)
58. Examine the right engine power lever, fuel control box
assembly and control cable for looseness and correct range of
motion. Make sure they are correctly attached. (E2)
