To be accomplished after a main or tail rotor blade strike or any
drive system failure which inhibits free rotation of the drive
system.
A blade strike is a rapid deceleration of the drive system due to
contact of the main or tail rotor blades with the ground, water,
snow, dense vegetation, or any other object sufficient to cause
any of the damage that follows:
• Main Rotor Blades — Any impact damage to the
leading edge or lower skin which exceeds the limits
specified in the BHT-430-CR&O. Any skin cracks.
• Main Rotor Mast — Twisting, out of roundness or
bowing which exceeds the limits specified in the
BHT-430-CR&O.
• Tail Rotor Blades — Any impact damage to the leading
edge or both lower and upper skins which exceeds the
limits specified in the BHT-430-CR&O.
• Disk Pack Couplings — Any deformation of any disk
pack which results in a gap between the laminates that
is more than 0.005 inch (0.127 mm).
• Disk Pack Coupling Bolts — Distortion or cracks in
any bolt.
