CONDITIONAL INSPECTIONS
INSPECTION TASK DESCRIPTION
(3) Measure the diameter of mast pole at three
locations approximately 1.5 inches (38 mm) above swashplate
drive spline, approximately 7.0 inches (178 mm) below top
surface of hub mounting surface and at approximately midway
between these two locations.
Each of the three above measurement locations shall include
three measurements made at 120° azimuth orientation to each
other. the total difference between any of the three azimuth
measurements, in any one lengthwise location, shall not exceed
0.0015 inch (0.0381 mm).
The difference in diametrical dimension between any of the
three lengthwise locations (as an average of the three azimuth
measurements in each location) shall not be greater than 0.010
inch (0.25 mm) and not less than 3.445 inches (875 mm).
(4) Lift link lower attach fittings.
(5) Pylon fluid mounts.
(6) Transmission restraints and restraint fittings.
(7) Transmission top case.
(8) Examine the main driveshaft couplings for signs
that they overheated.
(9) Tail rotor driveshafts, couplings and bearings.
(10) Tail rotor hub, blades and attachments.
(11) Swashplate and lever assembly.
(12) Drive hub, idler link and drive link assemblies.
b. Examine the main transmission chip detectors and the
external oil filter for metal particles.
