t ion , t h e glow plu g ou t pu t st a ge a n d pr e-glow in dica -
t or la m p a r e a ct u a t ed by t h e E CM. Th e du r a t ion of
t h e sign a l depen ds on t h e coola n t t em per a t u r e. Th e
glow plu g r ela y h a s pr ocessin g t h a t com m u n ica t es
wit h t h e E CM. If n o da t a exch a n ge occu r s a t t h e t r ig-
ger in g st a ge, t h e pr eh ea t in g is swit ch ed off a ft er 2
secon ds.
