generator output. Excessive belt tension will cause rapid belt and beatinC wear. Cheek the tension
of a new belt 2S hours after installation. Proper adjustment should aUow, at midpoint betw ... n

rent settinl of the eurreat reculator with which the shunt lenerator is used. Checkinc of this
setting is discussed in the applicable recul.tor bulletin.
9-9. Checking Defective Generators.

the lenerator-relulator system does not perform according
to specifications (ienerator does not produce rated output or prodllces excessive output). and the
trouble has been isolated in the ienerator itself by followinC the procedure oudined in paragraph
9-5. the generator may be checked further as follow. to determine the location of trouble in the
generator.
9-10. No Output.
