If the displayed value is less than the specified value:
-
Check the plug-in connections from the alternator to the voltage regulator.
-
Check the plug-in connectors from the voltage regulator to the wiring har-
ness.
-
Alternator - check the light and battery winding.

p. 190)
If the displayed value is greater than the specified value:
-
Change the voltage regulator.
I
A defective voltage regulator can have a variety of effects depending on whether there is no voltage or an excessively high volt-
age in the circuit. An excessively high voltage shortens the lamp service life.
Condition
The battery must be charged or the kickstarter must be used.
If there is no voltage in the circuit:
-
Disconnect the voltage regulator from the circuit.
Warning
Material damage
Separate the voltage regulator from the electric circuit
at idling speed only.
-
If no voltage regulator is connected to the electric circuit, run the
engine at idling speed only. At higher speeds, the lighting system
wi II be destroyed.

If the power consumers are functioning:
-
Change the voltage regulator.
If there is no current in the circuit after the voltage regulator is changed:
-
Alternator - check the light and battery winding.
