Replacing AT-XEM2 Line Cards

This section contains the procedure for replacing AT-XEM2 Ethernet line
cards in the AT-SBx908 Gen2 Switch. Please review the guidelines in
Table 21 before performing the procedure:

Description
No reset of the switch is required when
hot-swapping cards in the following
situations:
- Installing a card in an unused line card
slot that was not provisioned for any
card.
- Installing a card in a line card slot that
was provisioned for it or one of the other
cards.
- Replacing a card with the same model
(for example, replacing an AT-XEM2-
12XT Card with another AT-XEM2-12XT
Card).
- Replacing a card with a different model
(for example, replacing an AT-XEM2-
12XS Card with an AT-XEM2-4QS
Card).
Resetting the switch is required when
installing one of these cards in a line card
slot that was used by or provisioned for
the AT-XEM2-1CQ Card.
No reset of the switch is required when
hot-swapping AT-XEM2-1CQ Card in the
following situations:
- Replacing the AT-XEM2-1CQ Card with
another AT-XEM2-1CQ Card.
- Installing the AT-XEM2-1CQ Card in a
line card slot that was provisioned for it
with the SWITCH BAY PROVISION
command. (The switch, however, must
be reset after the provisioning
command.)
