Output Filter and External Filter

Output Filter and External Filter
The channel has a built-in output filter to obtain clean source output without spikes,
noise, and overshooting. To set the filter, see
4-29. Note, however, that using a filter may increase the channel settling time.
Also the channel can be equipped with an external filter (N1294A-020/021/022 low
noise filter, LNF). By attaching the filter to the output terminal, the B2961A/
B2962A can be used as a high resolution and high speed DC power supply or a DC
bias source for high frequency measurement instrument.
For using the external filter, see
"External Filter dialog box" on page
Conditions for using the external filter is shown below.
Supported source mode: DC voltage source or DC current source
Built-in output filter:
Filter State: ON
Automatic Filter: ON
Programmable output resistance function: Unsupported
Maximum output voltage/current for using HC-ULNF: 21 V / 500 mA
Current ranges effective for using HC-ULNF: 1 mA to 1 A ranges
Maximum output voltage/current for using ULNF: 42 V / 105 mA
Current ranges effective for using ULNF:
In the current source mode: 10 nA to 100 mA ranges
In the voltage source mode: 10 A to 100 mA ranges
Current ranges effective for using LNF:
In the current source mode: 10 nA to 3 A ranges
