Reaction to malfunctions in the control system

5-10
The reaction of outputs and valves to control and communica-
tion malfunctions can be set via device-specific parameterisa-
tion
Section 4.3.4.
In case of a malfunction, the network participants, i.e. the bus
nodes and the I-port devices, assume the parameterised fail
state mode.
Depending on the DIL switch setting, the inputs and outputs
hold the last state or reset to the basic state
The selected setting applies for all outputs. (Factory setting:
"reset").
Note
Please note the following valve reaction if the outputs are
reset after PLC stop, network/fieldbus interruption or other
malfunction:
– Monostable valves move to the basic position
– Double-solenoid valves remain in the current position
– Mid-position valves move to mid-position (pressurized,
exhausted or closed, depending on valve type).
Warning
Danger of injury.
Make sure that outputs and valves are moved to a safe
state when malfunctions occur.
Incorrect output and valve states can cause dangerous
situations!
