NOTE:
• Proxim recommends changing your default passwords immediately. To perform this operation, use CLI commands.
• If you have not previously configured the unit's IP address and do not have a DHCP server on the network, the unit
will use the default IP address of 169.254.128.132.
• The username and password are case-sensitive. If you enter an incorrect password, then a message is displayed
stating that the password is incorrect.

1.4 Command Line Interface Modes Overview

The Command Line Interface (CLI) is divided into different command modes. Each command mode has its own set of
commands that manage the network operations. The commands that are available depend on the mode that you are in.
CLI operates in two main modes:

User Mode

Privileged Mode

1.4.1 User Mode
The moment you log into the device, with Username and Password, you enter into the User mode. In this mode, you can view
the configuration of only a few parameters. For configuring the device, you must be in the privileged mode which can be
entered by executing the "enable" command from the User Mode.
Example:
System Name>
To find more commands in this mode, the user has to type question mark.
System Name>?
To use the privileged mode, you need to type enable command from User mode.
1.4.2 Privileged Mode
Use the following command to access the privileged mode:
System Name>enable (this command enables the privileged mode).
In this mode, you can view all the configured parameters of the device by using show ?. This mode is identified by a pound
sign (#) at the command prompt.
