7 Maintenance
•
Vial of needle-wash solvent being used or alternatively 100% alcohol
(methanol or isopropanol)
•
Replacement one-piece needle-wash frit
Immerse the replacement frit for several minutes in the vial of the
Tip:
needle-wash solvent being used, or alternatively in alcohol before beginning
the replacement procedure.
To replace the lower frit:
1.
Open the sample carousel door, as shown below in the figure.
2.
Remove all carousels that restrict access to the lower retainer.
Use the Door is Open dialog box to move the carousel carrier to the
Tip:
"A" position. See
3.
Power-off the separations module, and disconnect it from the electrical
outlet.
4.
Find the lower frit retainer, which is inside the sample compartment on
the top right side, approximately 4 inches within the cavity.
