Working with Manual Machine
14.6 More complex machining
Thread cutting
In addition to the functions that are made available by "thread-cutting" under Automatic, you
can insert idle cuts during the machining process under "Manual Machine."
You can interrupt the infeed of the cutting depth during the machining process by inserting
idle cuts, in order to smooth the flanks for example.
Thread re-machining
You can rework existing threads, when repairing previously cut threads for example or as the
result of changes that arise from re-measuring (see Section "Auto-Hotspot").
If you want to rework some threads, input the initial plunge depth E (inc.). This is the depth
that was reached during a previous machining.
Note
By inputting the plunge depth, you avoid unnecessary idle cuts when reworking the threads.
