The top-level greeting is played as the Auto Attendant instruction menu. In this greeting, you
will explain to callers how to route to desired information (e.g., directions, business hours), to a
particular extension or mailbox, or to the company directory or human attendant. This top-level
greeting should also be used to direct your callers to CCR destinations (for instance, "To speak

Again, if your system supports more than one language, you should script this top-level greet-
ing in all of the languages supported by your system. For each language supported by your sys-
tem, you can record up to two customized top-level greetings: one for business hours (day) and
one for off hours (night). When your Hicom system switches from day to night answering mode,
Office PhoneMail automatically switches from the day-time to the night-time greeting.
Note that if you have a dual-language system, callers who reach the top-level greeting will be
prompted to select their preferred language before the greeting plays. Following this selection,
all additional prompts will play in the language selected.

Each recorded top-level greeting can be up to three minutes long. You can change these cus-

dant will hear the Office PhoneMail default top-level greeting.
Remember that your recorded greetings will create the first impression many callers receive of
your business. It is therefore important to script them carefully and to have someone with a
pleasant voice record them.
