Care, maintenance and disposal

General

Under normal operating conditions, the power source requires only a minimum of care and
maintenance. However, it is vital to observe some important points to ensure the welding
system remains in a usable condition for many years.

Updating firm- IMPORTANT! To update the firmware you need a PC or laptop that is connected to the
ware power source via an Ethernet network.

Disposal

Dispose of in accordance with the applicable national and local regulations.
WARNING! An electric shock can be fatal. Before opening the device
- Turn the mains switch to the "O" position
- Unplug the machine from the mains
- Prevent it from being switched on again
- Using a suitable measuring instrument, check to make sure that electrically
charged components (e.g. capacitors) have discharged
Check mains plug, mains cable, welding torch, interconnecting hosepack and ground-
ing (earthing) connection for damage
Check whether the all-round clearance of 0.5 m (1 ft. 8 in.) is kept to ensure that the
cooling air can easily flow and escape.
NOTE! Air inlets and outlets must never be covered, not even partially.
If present: clean air filter
NOTE! Risk of damage to electronic components. Do not bring air nozzle too
close to electronic components.
open the device
clean out the device interior using dry compressed air at reduced pressure
if a lot of dust has accumulated, clean the cooling air ducts.
Get latest firmware (e.g. from the Fronius DownloadCenter)
File format: official_tpsi_x.x.x-xxxx.ffw
Establish Ethernet connection between PC/laptop and power source
Open the power source website (see page 143)
Transfer the firmware to the power source (see page 147)
