Care, maintenance and disposal

General remarks
Under normal operating conditions, the PT Drive needs only a minimum of care and
maintenance. However, to ensure continued trouble-free operation of your welding torch
for years to come, there are a few basic points that you should observe:
Regular preventive maintenance of the welding torch is essential for problem-free
operation. The welding torch is subjected to high temperatures and heavy soiling. The
welding torch therefore requires more frequent maintenance than other components in
the welding system.
Important! When removing welding spatter, avoid scoring or scratching the torch. Future
welding spatter may become firmly lodged in score or scratch marks.

Do NOT bend the torch neck
Inspect the PT Drive, interconnecting cable and earth connection for any signs of
damage
CAUTION! Danger of scalding from hot coolant fluid. Do not inspect the water
connections until the coolant has been allowed to cool.
Check that the water connections are watertight
Check the amount of coolant flowing back into the coolant reservoir in the cooling
unit
NOTE! If the PT Drive is started up without any coolant, this will almost always
cause a defect in the torch-body and the hosepack. Fronius will not be liable for
any resulting damage, and all warranty claims shall be null and void.
