Touch the Live screen key in the screen menu bar.
The live image is displayed on the screen.

Focus the image by rotating the Focus Control on the P5000i until the image is in focus.

Toggle the Magnification screen key on the screen between High and Low, and then select the
magnification option you want to use. You can also press the Magnification Control button on
the side of the P5000i.

Touch the Freeze screen key to capture the properly focused image.
Text "Capturing..." appears as shown in Figure 78.

Optional. To save the image as a file (.png), complete the following steps:
a
Tap the Save PNG screen key.
The Save window appears.

Name the file and save it in the default FiberInspection folder.
See "Using save/load" on page 139 for more information on saving a screen.

Touch the Live screen key to return to the live image screen and do more tasks. Otherwise, touch
the Quit screen key to exit.

Testing a fiber

Procedure
1
Connect the fiber to be inspected to the tip of your microscope P5000i.
See the user manual of your fiber microscope for information on using the P5000i.

Touch the Live screen key in the screen menu bar.
The live image is displayed on the screen.

Focus the image by rotating the Focus Control on the P5000i until the image is in focus.

Toggle the Magnification screen key on the screen between High and Low, and then select the
magnification option you want to use. You can also press the Magnification Control button on
the side of the P5000i.

Touch the Test screen key to capture and analyze the image.
Text "Analyzing..." appears as shown in Figure 79.
