Using the external trigger mode

Set up the desired waveform operation using the previous procedures.
Enable the external trigger mode:
Press CONFIG then WAVE to enter the wave function configuration
menu.

Navigate the MORE and TRIG-MODE menu selections.

To disable the external trigger mode (normal operation), select MAN/
BUS.
To enable the external trigger mode, select NONE (no trigger link line).
or choose the desired trigger link line # (1-6) to use as the input trigger
source.
Set retrigger behavior:
Navigate the MORE menu, then select RE-TRIG.

Select IGNORE-TRIG to ignore retrigger attempts and allow the run-
ning waveforms to complete.

If RESTART-IMMEDIATELY is selected, another trigger will cause the
waveform to restart immediately when retriggered.
Set inactive value (value before and after triggered waveforms):
Navigate the MORE menu, then select INACTIVE-VAL.

Using the arrow keys, set the value between -1.0000 and +1.0000.
Arm and trigger the waveform:
Press WAVE to arm the waveform generator.

Press TRIG to trigger the unit. The Model 6221 will turn on its output
and begin to source an amount of current controlled by the inactive
value. When an external trigger is detected on the specified trigger link
line, the generator will begin to output the waveform.
