Step 3.
If an adapter is installed in the ML2 riser-cage assembly, disconnect any cables that are connected
to the adapter.
Step 4.
Remove the adapter, if one is present, from the ML2 riser-cage assembly (see "Removing an
adapter/GPU adapter" on page 184).
Step 5.
Set the adapter and the ML2 riser-cage assembly aside.
Step 6.
If you are instructed to return the ML2 riser-cage assembly, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Replacing a ML2 riser-cage assembly

Before you install a ML2 riser-cage assembly, complete the following steps:
1. Read "Safety" on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 101.
2. If the compute node is installed in a NeXtScale n1200 Enclosure, remove it (see "Removing a compute
node from a chassis" on page 104 for instructions).
3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with
the bezel pointing toward you.
Note: There must be either a DIMM or DIMM filler installed for all 16 DIMM slots.
To install a ML2 riser-cage assembly, complete the following steps:
Step 1.
Remove the cover (see "Removing the compute node cover" on page 113).
Step 2.
Remove the ML2 filler panel, if one is present, from the front of the server.
