Remove any debris from the paper path.

Reseat the interface cable that is plugged into the printer.

Reset the printer.
Does the problem remain?

Make sure that the SHPF top bin exit sensor actuator is properly
installed.

Check the actuator for damage, and replace if necessary. See

Test the sensor (SHPF top bin exit).
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
SENSOR TESTS > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Sensor Test >
Top bin exit

Toggle the sensor.
Does the sensor status change while toggling the sensor?
Step 4
a
Reseat the cable J9 on the SHPF controller board.

If applicable, reseat the junction connectors on the cable.
c
Make sure that the cable is not in the path of moving parts.
d
Check the cable for damage, and replace if necessary.
Does the problem remain?
Step 5
a
Make sure that the sensor is properly installed.
b
Make sure that the sensor is free of debris or dust.
c
Reseat the cable on the sensor. Check the cable for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d
Check the sensor for damage.
Is the sensor free of damage?
