Remove any debris from the paper path.

Reseat the interface cable that is plugged into the printer.

Reset the printer.

Check the following front door parts for damage, and replace if necessary:
• Hinges
• Magnetic catch
• Front door switch actuator
Does the problem remain?
Step 3

Make sure that the front door switch is properly installed.

Make sure that the switch is free of debris or dust.
c
Reseat the cable on the switch. Check the cable for damage, and
replace if necessary.
d
Check the switch for damage.
Is it free of damage?
Step 4

Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
SENSOR TESTS > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Sensor Tests >
Front door open
b
Toggle the switch.
Does the switch status change while toggling the switch?
Step 5
Replace the switch. See "SHPF front door switch removal" on page
