installed.

Make sure that the sensor is free of debris or dust.

Reseat the cable on the sensor. Check the cable for damage, and
replace if necessary.

Check the sensor for damage.
Is the sensor free of damage?

Test the sensor.
Enter the Diagnostics menu, and then navigate to:
SENSOR TESTS > Staple and Hole Punch Finisher Sensor Tests >
Pre‑eject away

Toggle the sensor.
Does the sensor status change while toggling the sensor?

Replace the sensor. See "SHPF compiler eject sensors removal" on
page 401.
Does the problem remain?

Make sure that the pre-eject motor encoder is properly installed.

Check the encoder for damage, and replace if necessary. See
Compiler section 1" on page

Make sure that the compiler pre-eject drive gear and drive belt are
properly installed.

Check the belt and gear for wear or damage, and replace if necessary.
