This section covers cleaning of the exposed (top side)
surfaces of the imaging guides. You do not need to
remove the imaging guides for cleaning unless there is
dust or dirt on the underside of the imaging guide. If you
need to remove the imaging guides to clean the underside,
follow the instructions for "Replacing the Imaging
Guides" on page 94.
1.
Wipe the upper and lower imaging guides with a stati-
cide wipe (part number 830 9783).
CAUTION: Always wipe away from the patch to ensure
that debris is not deposited on the patch.
Do not use an emulsiclean wipe (part number
CAUTION:
137 4966) as this will introduce static which will
collect dust particles.

Dry the imaging guides with a dry staticide wipe.
Do not use a paper or cloth towel as these will

introduce particles into the transport area.
3.
Lower the scanner cover and press it down firmly
until it latches into place.
