Do not turn the scanner on before perform-
CAUTION:
ing the installation procedure covered in Chapter
3, "Installation". Doing so may result in incorrect
drivers being loaded.
Turn the power on to the scanner.
After you turn on the scanner, wait for it to complete the
self-test. When the self-test is completed, the green
(bottom) indicator light on the side of the scanner turns
on and stays on.
