IP filter
Each PC has its own individual IP address. This menu is used to enable an IP filter. If
"allow IP addresses" has been selected, only PCs can access the Internet, the IP ad-
dresses of which have been entered in this list. Vice versa, if "block IP addresses" has
been selected, only PCs can access the Internet, the IP addresses of which are not
included in this list. The IP address will automatically be added to the list if you click
on "add the address to the filter" at the relevant PC.
Note: These settings will not be activated until you once terminate your Internet
connection and establish it once again. You should not use this feature for PCs
with the setting "obtain IP address automatically".
MAC filter
Each network interface card has its own individual MAC address. This menu is used
to enable a MAC filter. If "allow MAC addresses" has been selected, only network in-
terface cards (and the corresponding PCs) can access the Internet, the MAC ad-
dresses of which have been entered in this list. Vice versa, if "block MAC addresses"
has been selected, only network interface cards can access the Internet, the MAC
addresses of which are not included in this list. The MAC address will automatically
be added to the list if you click on "add the address to the filter" at the relevant PC.
Dyn. DNS
If your telephone system should be configured via the Internet, or if you would like to
have access to a server within the LAN, the IP address of your telephone system at
the DSL connection has to be entered as target address.
The IP-address can be found under "internet dial-up/status/local IP". During the next
internet access, this IP address normally changes.
Via Dyn. DNS you now have the possibility to link a name to the IP address of your
telephone system at the DSL connection. In order to obtain access to the telephone
system, it is no longer necessary to enter the IP address, but it is sufficient to enter
the given DNS name. For this purpose, the telephone system automatically provides
a server in the Internet with the latest IP address for the given name.
This service has to be activated manually with a corresponding provider before.
