Network ports
The telephone system has a 10/100 Ethernet 4-port switch. The connection is made
by using a standard Ethernet cable (CAT 5) with auto negotiation.
Note: When using the optional tiptel WLAN module, one LAN port will be occupied
by this module.
ADSL port
The telephone system has a 10/100 Ethernet port for the connection of your DSL
modem.
Note: The ADSL port is compatible with modems using PPPoE (point-to-point pro-
tocol over Ethernet) or PPTP (point-to-point tunnelling protocol).
Wireless LAN (optional)
You may also install a wireless LAN module within the telephone system enabling
wireless LAN or DSL access.
RS 232
The RS 232 port of your telephone system provides a standard modem. The follow-
ing settings have to be performed on your PC for the communication interface (for
example for COM 2):
