In order to use DHCP, click on "DHCP server on". The list below shows those com-
puters that already obtained an IP address from the telephone system.
Enter the first IP address to be assigned in the field "DHCP – IP start address" and
click on "ok, save" after completion of all settings.
Note:
If your network contains terminals with fixed IP address, this IP ad-
dress must not be included in the range of IP addresses of the
DHCP Server.
List of DHCP clients
Here you can see which computers already obtained an IP address. Additionally the
network name and the MAC address of the connected computers is given.
Wireless LAN
The following settings will only be operable after successful installation of the tiptel
WLAN module.
Status
Access point module
Your telephone system has an optional wireless (WLAN) network extension. This op-
tional available WLAN module must be installed within your telephone system. At the
PC side you need a corresponding client adapter (for example a WLAN USB client or
PCMCIA card). After clicking on "ok, save", a basic initialisation will be started. Date
and time of initialisation will be indicated here.
Note: The tiptel WLAN module uses the IEEE802.11b+ standard with a band width
of 22 Mbps. Further information can be taken from the Installation Guide for the
tiptel WLAN module.
Access point MAC address
Here the MAC address of your access point module is indicated. The MAC address is
a unique address for Ethernet networks, which is allocated by the manufacturer. In
contrast to IP addresses, the MAC address cannot be modified. Therefore, quite se-
cure access authorisations (MAC filter) can be programmed via MAC addresses.
