Automatic exchange connection
After picking up the handset, the telephone system will automatically perform a stan-
dard exchange connection, i.e. the telephone system imperceptibly dials "0". If a free
CO line is available, you will immediately hear the external dialling tone. If all external
lines assigned to the subscriber are busy, the internal busy tone is heard. An auto-
matic exchange connection is only performed for the first connection setup. For fur-
ther connection setups – for example for an inquiry call – the internal dialling tone is
heard first. If another external connection shall be set up, the line prefix must be di-
alled.
In case of an activated automatic exchange connection, it is possible to activate the
internal dialling process by means of the key combination „
seconds after the handset has been lifted, the telephone system is automatically
switched to the internal dialling tone. Afterwards, internal calls can immediately be
hold.
Automatic exchange connection is also performed if no exchange authorisation is
available. This is necessary in order to ensure that emergency phone numbers can
be called. As soon as additional digits are dialled, which do not belong to an emer-
gency number, the connection will be terminated.

Pick Up
This menu is used to define whether an incoming call may be picked up by another
subscriber or not. Select the setting "answering machine", if you wish to operate an
answering machine at this extension. You are now able to pick up the call even after
it had already been answered by the answering machine.
Configuration: Subscriber
The feature "automatic exchange connection" must be en-
abled. Additionally the required exchange authorisation
must be available.
