    Introduction Directions for the operation of the telephone system • This ISDN telephone system has been designed for use at ISDN connections according to Euro ISDN protocol DSS1. Use with other connections will lead to malfunctions. • The integrated DSL router is compatible with DSL modems using PPPoE (point- to-point protocol over Ethernet) or PPTP (point-to-point tunnelling protocol).

    Introduction Connection approval Your ISDN telephone system has a "General Connection Approval". So, anyone is authorized to put the telephone system into operation. It is not necessary to notify your network operator. Environmental compatibility No contact with substances harmful to human health can occur during due and proper use of this telephone system.

    The telephone system has a 10/100 Ethernet 4-port switch. The connection is made by using a standard Ethernet cable (CAT 5) with auto negotiation. Note: When using the optional tiptel WLAN module, one LAN port will be occupied by this module.

    Network configuration In the factory default setting, the telephone system tiptel 3022 office / tiptel 3011 of- fice acts as DHCP server (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) for the connected computers. In this setting connected computers obtain the necessary IP addresses automatically.

    Start your web browser (Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Netscape Navigator or similar). • The factory pre-set IP address of the tiptel 3022 office / tiptel 3011 office is 192.168.1.100. • Enter this IP address in the address bar of your browser and confirm with "enter".

    Configuration Configuration via ISDN You can also configure the telephone system via ISDN. You can either establish the connection via one of the internal ISDN ports or exter- nally via the public exchange. Note: It is necessary that an ISDN interface card/adapter incl. CAPI driver has been correctly installed.
  • Page 31 Configuration Install a dial-up connection and select "standard modem 33600 bps" in the menu "new connection". As phone number simply enter the pre-set phone number 99 with- out prefix (see "ISDN data services"). User name and password are identical to the configuration via LAN (admin/admin). Note: It is absolutely necessary that the hardware flow control has been disabled, as otherwise NO connection can be established.

    The subscriber settings can be taken from the User's Manual of your tiptel 3022 office / tiptel 3011 office. After logging in to the tiptel 3022 office / tiptel 3011 office, the following window is displayed: Use the link "administrator" in order to get to the administrator settings.

    To ensure a correct functionality, it is necessary to connect the voicemail systems to the internal S04. For correct settings in your tiptel 350 or 355, select the telephone system 30xx in the telephone system menu of your voicemail system.

The corresponding setting is realised via the configuration (setting of language) of your browser. Charge per pulse The transmission of charging information at the analogue ports is made by charge pulses.

    Loading new operating software: This menu is used to download the updated firmware version from our homepage www.tiptel.com. Select the new firmware version with the ending .fls on your PC. Note: After a firmware update, the telephone system will automatically be re- started.

    Configuration: Global Settings Note: After the loading of new configuration data, the telephone system will auto- matically be restarted. When transferring the data to your telephone system, all call data records will automatically be deleted. Restart Use this function in order to restart your telephone system manually.     Configuration: Global Settings Dialling control The telephone system performs a dialling control for internal subscribers for whom this feature has been enabled. The dialled phone number will be compared with the blocked numbers list and - if identical - with the exception phone numbers list. If the dialled phone number is contained in the blocked numbers list and not in the excep- tion numbers list, connection setup will automatically be stopped.

    Configuration: External ISDN access You can choose between the following settings: • Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) • Call Forwarding when Busy (CFB) • Call Forwarding No Reply (CFNR) Requirements: Connection to a point-to-multipoint access. This feature has been enabled. Entry of the external MSNs. Status inquiry for call forwarding external (CFI) It can be set here whether an inquiry of the current call forwarding external should be carried out.

Busy extensions / busy sub- scribers are marked red and called ones yellow. Subscribers, who are signalled at several extensions or who have enabled the call waiting signal, can be called even if they are busy.

    Configuration: Subscriber Selecting a subscriber This menu is used to select a subscriber in order to modify the settings. The selection always consists of a combination of extension number and name. If you wish to cre- ate a new subscriber, you have to select the subscriber "new".     The number of available voiceboxes depends upon the voicemail system used. The voicebox will finally be activated by means of the system telephone tiptel 82 sys- tem or – in case of analogue or ISDN telephones – by means of call forwarding to the voicebox.

    Configuration: Subscriber Dialling control on/off This menu is used to enable the global setting "dialling control via blocked numbers" for the subscriber. Enabling of charge account It is possible to enable a charge account for each subscriber. As soon as the sub- scriber exceeds his / her charge limit, no further external calls (except emergency calls) can be initiated.
