• The cleaning blade is pressed up against the surface of the photoconductor at all times. No cleaning blade retraction mechanism is
provided.
• The cleaning blade scrapes residual toner off the surface of the photoconductor as the photoconductor is rotated.
• The toner collecting screw conveys the toner scraped off the surface of the photoconductor.
Toner conveyance/collection mechanism
• The toner collecting screw is rotated by the driving force transmitted from the photoconductor. (The toner collecting screw rotates in
time with the rotation of the photoconductor.)
• Rotation of the toner collecting screw conveys toner scraped off the surface of the photoconductor toward the front of the machine.
• The toner conveyed to the front of the machine is discharged via the toner collecting port into the waste toner bottle.
• The toner collecting port is provided with a shutter mechanism. Mounting the waste toner bottle pushes the shutter at the toner
collecting port, opening the toner collecting port. The shutter is closed by the waste toner bottle removal and prevents the toner spilling
from the toner collecting port.
