Turn the water pump impeller with your finger. The
pump shaft should turn smoothly and quietly.
Replace the faulty part if the shaft do not turn
smoothly or quietly.

Remove the pump shaft and bearing by tapping the
shaft lightly with a plastic hammer.
Remove the mechanical seal using the special tools.

Remover weight 07741-0010201
Remove the oil seal.
Blow the telltale hole in the crankcase cover with
compressed air to clean it.
Apply engine oil to the seal lips and outer surface of
a new oil seal.
Install the oil seal with the marking facing up until it
is fully seated.
