1.
If the switch is running National ISDN Protocol (NI-1), select National ISDN regardless of the

The directory numbers are the telephone numbers assigned to your ISDN line by your

In most areas, the local dialing format is a seven-digit number (for example, 5551212). Do not
include dashes (-) or spaces in this field.

If you are using the Wizard only to change your current ISP information, you may disable the

proceeds directly to the ISP Setup screen.

Initializing ISDN and Performing the Loopback Test

If the Perform ISDN Initialization/Loopback Test box is checked, FirstGear initializes the router
ISDN line and performs a loopback test when you click on Next.
During the ISDN Initialization and Loopback Test, the following events occur:
FirstGear sends the configuration information to the router and resets the router's ISDN port.
The D LED on the front panel lights.
FirstGear instructs the router to place a loopback call, in which B channel 1 places a call to B
channel 2.
The two B channel LEDs light together for a few seconds. If the call completes successfully,
FirstGear proceeds to the ISP Information screen.
