ISDN Tab Fields
Field
Description
Switch type
Select the type of ISDN switch or protocol used by your telephone company. If the
switch is running National ISDN Protocol, select National ISDN regardless of the
switch manufacturer.
B Channel Usage
Press the space bar to toggle through the permutations of Switch, Leased, and
Unused. Select Switch/Switch unless one or both B channels are a leased circuit.
Phone Number
Use the Phone Number box in both the Channel 1 and Channel 2 area to set the
telephone number(s) assigned to your ISDN line by your telephone company.
Some lines have only one telephone number. For North America, these phone
numbers must be in a standard seven-digit local format (for example, 5551212).
Enter up to 19 digits, and do not include dashes ( - ) or spaces in this field.
SPID
Use the SPID box in both the Channel 1 and Channel 2 area to set the Service
Profile Identifier (SPID) numbers provided by your telephone company. Depending
on your switch type, you may have zero, one, or two SPIDs assigned to your line.
SPIDs are not required for the AT&T 5ESS Custom Point-to-Point Protocol.
Incoming Analog
Use the Incoming Analog Call to box in both the Channel 1 and Channel 2 area to set
Call to
how an incoming analog call to that number is handled. Choose from the following
options:
• Phone 1—Analog calls are directed to the Phone 1 port.
• Phone 2—Analog calls are directed to the Phone 2 port.
• DOVBS—Analog calls are assumed to be data calls using DOVBS.
