Troubleshooting a Remote User Connection

To troubleshoot a remote user connection:
Verify that you configured the authentication parameters in Menu 13. These parameters

CLID Authen
Recv Authen
Mutual Authen
Verify that the IP address is supplied correctly in Menu 13 if the remote dial-in user is

negotiating IP.
Check that the remote dial-in user is supplying a valid IP address and that the router is
assigning a valid address from the IP pool.
Verify the user name and password for the remote dial-in user in Menu 14.

Troubleshooting Multilink Operation

To troubleshoot Multilink operation to a remote node, first configure the remote node to always
use both B channels, and then place a call from the Diagnostics menu.
In the internal Manager interface, open Menu 11 and select the remote node.

Remember which number in Menu 11 corresponds to the remote node that you are
troubleshooting. You use this number in a later step to select the node for a dial test.
In Menu 11.1, use the arrow keys to select the Edit PPP Options field.

Use the Space bar to toggle the field to Yes and press [Enter].

Menu 11.2 - Remote Node PPP Options opens.
In Menu 11.2, use the arrow keys to select the Base Trans Rate field.

Use the Space bar to toggle the field to 128 and press [Enter] to continue to the bottom of
