Reference Guide for the Model RT338 ISDN Router
Enter the system name in the System Name field of the menu.

Choose a descriptive name to identify the router (for example, myRT338). The name must be
no more than 8 alphanumeric characters. Spaces are not allowed, but dashes ( - ) and
underscores ( _ ) are accepted. The name is displayed as the prompt in the Command Mode.
If you dial into an ISP or a remote site that uses CHAP authentication, you must make the
system name the same as your account's login name.
(Optional) Enter location and contact person's name.

ISDN Setup Menu

Use menu 2 to configure your ISDN line. Depending on what type of telephone company switch
serves your particular location, you may have one or two telephone numbers and you may also
have two SPIDs (Service Profile Identifiers). Make sure that you have correct and complete
telephone numbers and SPIDs. You must complete the ISDN setup before your system can make
an outgoing call or answer an incoming call.

Figure 4-4
shows Menu 2 - ISDN Setup.
