Troubleshooting IP Console Problems

To troubleshoot 5550 IP Console Problems
1. Go through Table 47 below.
2. If you cannot solve the problem using Table 47, go
3. If you still can't find the problem, call Mitel Networks

Table 47. Troubleshoot IP Console Problems

Symptoms
IP console fails to
register (red LED is lit
on TKB).

To rule out DHCP problems, and isolate

program the IP Phone with a static IP Address (see
TSB # 58004933).
through the steps in "Generic Troubleshooting Steps"
on page 144.
Technical Support (see "Before You Contact
Technical Support" on page 142).
Probable cause
TKB (keyboard) does
not have a reserved IP
address. OR
TKB does not have
the right IP addres.OR
TKB is not
communicating to the
right Controller.
Corrective Action
1.
Check DHCP lease to
confirm if an expected IP
address is assigned to
TKB.
2.
If not assigned
properly, ensure that you
enter the MAC address of
TKB properly in the
Multiline Set Assignment
form in ESM.
3.
Recyle the power of
TKB to ensure that TKB
is reloaded properly
