Avaya P550R/P580/P880/P882 Multiservice Switch ATM Uplink User Guide, Version 2.0.
LoadShare builds on the capabilities of FailOver. You configure two
ATM Links but the ATM Uplink module will forward traffic down
both Links. In the event of a failure on one link, the other will
forward all traffic.
* Note: Loadshare is only supported on 80 Series ATM Uplink
modules.
The use of a Non-Replicating VSP is appropriate when there are two
sites in a network. If a business has two buildings with the
"Engineering" VLAN and are using an ATM connection to join
them, each site would configure a Non-Replicating VSP. All traffic
leaving one site is destined for the other. Within the Non-
Replicating VSP, each site would configure a single ATM Link; and
that ATM Link would hold the configuration of each PVC.

VSP
Site 1 would create VSP "Engineering" with ATM Link
"Eng_Site_2". Within "Eng_Site_2", you would define 1 or more
PVCs.
Site 2 would create VSP "Engineering" with ATM Link
"Eng_Site_1". Within "Enge_Site_1", you would define the same set
of PVCs.
Both sites would bind the Engineering VSP to the Engineering
VLAN.
Failure to configure the same PVCs on both ends will result in traffic
being lost since each site would not recognize the other's VCs.
