Definition
Select the join mode used by this port. Values
are:
• LECS - Default - Select when ELANs are
controlled by a LECS.
• LES - Select if you know the ATM address
of the LES server that serves your ELAN.
Enter the LECS or LES server address associated
with this port. The default ATM server LECS
address for a V2 LEC is the well-known address:
C5007900000000000000000000-
00A03E000001-00 (hex).
For a V1 LEC, the well-known address is:
47007900000000000000000000-
00A03E000001-00 (hex).
* Note: The server ATM address is based
on the join-method.
Enter the client selector. The valid range is 0 -
FF (hex). You must use a unique value for each
client.
This parameter determines whether the ATM
Uplink module will respond to LEARPs for local
Ethernet MAC addresses only; or respond to
LEARPs for both local Ethernet MAC addresses
and MAC addresses learned by other LECs on
other ATM Uplink modules bound to the same
VLAN.
This feature allows the Avaya multiservice
switch to act as a bridge between two separate
ELANs. See appendix B for a detailed
description of this setting.
Values are:
ETHERNET: Use ETHERNET if you are using
multiple ATM Uplink modules.
ALL: Use ALL if you are using multiple ATM
Uplink modules with a LEC on each bound to
the same VLAN and wish to bridge traffic
between two ELANs. This is not recommended
by Avaya where jumping from one ELAN to
another is typically a routing function.
