3.4.6. HTTP Proxy Server

When the customer's network connects to the Internet through HTTP proxy server, set also the HTTP proxy server
used in this product. For the update of the security/scan function and firmware update of this product, this product
itself uses the Internet to communicate.

3.4.7. Checking Network Reachability by Ping Transmission

The ping function transmits ping packets from this product and uses the reply from target host for confirmation.

3.4.8. Network Route Confirmation by Sending Traceroute

This product executes traceroute to the target host and checks the route of the network to the target host. Use it to
confirm the router located on the route to the Internet and change the IPv4 static routing setting in the environment
where this product is used.

3.4.9. Self-Diagnosis Function

The self-diagnosis function is a function to check whether this product is in normal operation state. It is used to isolate
problems caused by settings and network configuration of this product.

3.4.10. Packet Dump Function

The packet dump function saves packets arriving at each interface of this product in a file. It can be downloaded as
pcap format file on the Web setting. Confirm the contents using any viewer application supporting pcap format. The
spontaneous packet of this product is also a packet to be saved. Packet dumps may be obtained and may provide
information to confirm the contents of communication in the event of a failure that may be related to the product. For
the details, refer to Section 6.1.16.
