3.4.4. Restart

This product restarts when one of the following occurs.
When directly restarted at Web setting.
When directly initialized at Web setting and RESET switch.
When setting is restored at Web setting.
When the operating mode is changed at Web setting.
When the device management mode is changed at Web setting.
After firmware update.
In a restart that does not involve initialization; the log message, the statistical information and event log of the
security/scan function are saved in memory.

3.4.5. Time Function

Signature update, security log, statistical information and event log use the time of this product.
The time of this product can be set by either of the following methods.
Using the NTP function.
Inputting the time directly at Web setting.
Although it can be set by either method, use the NTP function.
When the time is set directly at Web setting without using the NTP function, the time needs to be set every time this
product is started.
[Note]
When this product is started, the device time is 2015/11/14 00:00:00 JST.
Refer to Section 5.6.11 for the time setting of this product.
If the time of the product is incorrect, the security/scan function may not work. Use the time of this product
according to the actual time.
This product needs the correct time for authentication with the license server. Therefore, the time is automatically
corrected in cooperation with the server even if you set it manually in the Web setting.
The NTP function conforms to SNTP version4 (RFC2030).
Only the unicast mode is supported.
In the NTP function, the NTP server specification is required.
[NTP server setup]
The address of the NTP server can be changed from the Web setting. NICT public NTP services of NTP server is
specified as the initial value.
Only one NTP server can be specified.
