To Replace the A4 PC Motherboard
Photographs of the 86100A are used in the following steps. Although some of the components
are different in the 86100B/C, the removal procedure is virtually identical. Removing the A4
assembly in the 86100C does not require the removal of the fan.
When replacing the A4 assembly with a new version, be sure to follow the instructions at the end
of this replacement procedure.
Replacement of the A4 PC Motherboard will require that any installed software license be
"keyed" to the new motherboard. Option 200, Enhanced Jitter Software, is an example of a soft-
ware option. The motherboard contains a unique Host ID number which is used in the license
key generation process.

1 Remove the instrument's cover.
2 Remove four T-10 TORX screws that secure the fan, as shown in
