Remove the starter driven gear.
Remove the starter reduction shaft and gear.
REDUCTION GEAR INSPECTION
Inspect the reduction gear teeth for damage.
Measure the redclction gear !.D.
Measure the reduction gear shaft O.B., then calcu-
late the gear t o shaft clearance.
SER\/ICE LIMIT: 0.20 mm (0.008 in)
STARTER DRIVE GEAR INSPECTION
Check the drive gear for damage, excessive wear,
indenta"cons or other -Faults.
