Selector Shaft
Removal
1.
Remove the clutch (see page 4-8).
2.
Release the detent arm spring.
3.
Withdraw the selector shaft as an assembly. Note the
position of the selector shaft spring over the rear
selector fork shaft.

4.
Collect the washer from the selector shaft.
Inspection
1.
Inspect all springs for over-extension (i.e. abnormal
gaps between coils). Replace as necessary.
2.
Check the selector shaft for wear or damage. Renew
components as necessary.
Transmission
Installation
1.
Set the transmission in neutral. Rotate the selector
drum until the dot mark on the drum aligns with the
mark on the crankcase, as shown below.

Check that the washer is in position on the selector
shaft.

3.
Install the shaft to the crankcase, ensuring the
selector shaft spring passes over the end of the rear
selector fork shaft.
4.
Refit the detent spring.
5.
Refit the clutch (see page 4- 70).
