Third, Test the NIC

Follow these steps to verify that the NIC is installed and operating properly.
1. Connect the network's twisted pair cable with RJ-45 connectors to the new network port on your printer (A).
Reattach the power cord to the printer (B), plug in the printer.
2. Turn on the printer (C). It may take up to 90 seconds to warm up, and then it prints a Network Settings page
with NIC status information (shown on page 32).
note:
Keep the Network Settings page. You will need this information when configuring the NIC for your
network.
Your 4400 Printer is now a network printer. See Chapter 7 , "Network Setup," for configuring your systems
to use the network printer.

Installation of the optional Legal Paper Tray is simple. Remove the standard paper tray from the main feeder or the
optional Paper Tray 2 unit. Fill your new Legal Paper Tray and install as you would the standard tray (see page 9).
