Create a flight plan

REREQUISITES
GCS with:
Quickfield software installed
Horizon software installed
Created project
GPS position
Creating a flight plan is typically done in the field.

Open Quickfield and click Open Project on the opening screen.

Select your project from the list of created projects and click Load to use it.

: After you created and saved a project, you can immediately create a flight plan

using this project by clicking Next.

Define the scan area. The default scan area is shown on the Flight map as a yellow rect-
angle. The North is situated at the top of the Flight map.
Indicate the prevailing wind direction with the yellow arrow pointing to the scan area.
When you move the arrow, the scan area rotates accordingly.

: Indicating the correct wind direction is important to ensure smooth turns and

limited tail/head wind during flight.
Resize and reposition the scan area by repositioning the boundary points. The long
edge of the scan area should be perpendicular to the wind direction.
Selected surface shows the current size of the scan area. The size of the scan area
influences the flight duration.

: Be aware that the X100 will fly outside the scan area to make its turns (±300 m).

Define the scan area properties:

Set the launching location and direction. Go to the location where you want the X100 to
take off and click Fix in the Fix Take-off Location area.

: When no GPS lock can be acquired, a dialog informs you about this.

: The actual take-off direction is determined by the placement of the launcher and

is not influenced by the take-off direction set here. It is however important to match these
two directions to ensure an accurate simulation in Horizon.
