Figure 8-37 shows the front of an HP A3183A DDS-2 tape drive.

Integrated Single-ended SCSI-2 interface
Reads and Writes DDS-1 and DDS-2 formats dependent on the mounted tape dimension.
60 meter tape - DDS-1 = 1.3 Gbytes
90 meter tape - DDS-1 = 2.0 Gbytes
120 meter tape - DDS-2 = 4.0 Gbytes
With Data Compression enabled, the above capacities will increase from 2 to 4 times the non
compressed capacities. The average data compression factor is 2 to 1.
